Who am I that God would even be mindful of me… and the Son of God… that He would die for me!? I’m so humbled by His presence in my brokenness.

At Jr. & Sr. youth night I have a small group of about eight girls. Wednesday there was a new friend who came. She kept telling us it doesn’t make sense and it’s just not logical. I just kept telling her that it was okay and God loves her. After another round of her saying she doesn’t understand I finally got to the bottom of what she didn’t understand. She started to get a little teary and said, “I don’t understand how someone becomes saved.” I shared the gospel and Romans 10:9 “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” I could tell she was holding back tears so I asked if she would like to receive Jesus right now. She replied with an emotional, “yes.” I could feel the Holy Spirit leading me to mention that I think there are others here that are wanting the same thing and maybe tonight they would like to receive Jesus too. A gal to my left raised her hand and said, “Yes, I want to receive Jesus as well.” I said awesome let’s do this and then another spoke up before we started and said, “Yes, I want to receive Jesus as well.” After prayer the one girl said, “I’m probably not going to pray or read my bible.” (As if this was going to be a deal breaker). I just smiled at her and said it was just fine. She looked confused. I explained this isn’t a religion but a relationship and everyone has to start somewhere with Jesus and regardless His love for her never changes. Her eyes just lit up with a breath of freedom and love. The girls then moved to worship and I was standing in the back and a girl from our group came up and said “I want to receive Jesus tonight too.” We found a quiet place and prayed. By this point my cup was running over in joy and humility. Not only that, but two of the girls are going to sign up to get baptized. Please pray with me that these gals tangibly feel the love of God in their life. That He rocks their world with His real presence. God is sooooo Good!!! I guess this teaches me a lesson…I need to get out of house more often. “The harvest is many but the workers are few.” So I share this story because maybe today is your day to step out and do something crazy like, help with youth. Or maybe today is your day to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, so you can be saved. REGARDLESS – GOD IS MADLY IN LOVE WITH US! Even in our brokenness, we can’t escape His love.
